Dear Diary
There have been a few updates since the last entry:
- I’ve been waiting patiently for The Lawyer to ask me out to dinner or coffee but he hasn’t done this yet. A lady waits patiently and doesn’t appear to look desperate.
- Karate Kid has been sending annoying messages here and there. I take a long time to reply, if at all. If I didn’t have to see him most weeks I’d be less kind to him so that he’d get the point.
- I’ve logged back into the undisclosed dating application after a couple of months of not being online. Looks like I’ll be going on a date with one guy soon (he’s been sending me messages despite me not answering to any of his messages the past few months! must be a good sign)
There is one additional potential suitor to mention. He always compliments me on how I look when I’m out dancing. He’s rather good looking himself. Let’s call him Mr Smooth. I like his confidence. Once he even walked me to my car just to be a gentleman. He saw my profile on the undisclosed dating application and asked me if I’d like to catch up some time. I said yes. I was feeling a bit hesitant as his cultural background was very different to mine. Talking from experience it wasn’t compatible the first time, so best to proceed with caution.
Mr Smooth asked me out for coffee one day for that same evening. I already had plans so had to decline. When he saw me out next he poked fun at me and then asked if I’d be interested in going to his birthday celebration. I was a bit hesitant about this as I don’t do group gatherings as a first date. I didn’t commit but said I’d think about it. He sent a message through the next day with the agenda for the day. He said that I would be required to attend at least two of the events. I pondered on his offer for the best part of a day and then decided to politely decline. A few days later I noticed that we were no longer friends on Facey – it must have been something that I said.
