To be a Fly on the Wall – Entry 63

Dear Diary

Last night I went out dancing. I really needed it after this week! I decided to wear my shiny dress and large hoop earrings. My reasoning – I love to get dressed up – there’s a limited timeframe that I can wear attire such as this – I don’t know when I’ll get a chance outside of dancing to wear my nice dresses!

I was feeling particularly flat at the party as I looked around the room and saw men that I’d been on dates with or interested in and knew that staying friends was the best policy. Not surprisingly, The Lawyer wasn’t there. He must have been out with the girlfriend doing couple stuff. I must admit that I find it hard to respect a man who is so easily manipulated.

After a while Karate Kid showed up. We ignored each other for a while until he decided to come over to ask me for a dance. He seemed to still be interested in me but remained brat-like as usual. He actually asked me to dance twice that evening. The flame that I have for him was certainly burning at a lower intensity than previously. It’s good that my prayers are being listened to and that his nonsense is slowly turning me off him – one waste-of-phone-battery-stupid-text-message at a time.

The Tardy Teacher asked me to dance a few of times also. I really enjoy dancing with him. He picked me up and spun me around a couple of times and we had an amazing time. I always wonder while we are dancing if he will ever ask me out on a date again…

The Dance Teacher came later in the night. We had one passionate dance together and later he found me to tell me that I looked stunning. It was very kind of him to say. When he sat down next to me he kissed me on the cheek hello. I couldn’t tell if he had been drinking or was just extra friendly that particular evening. He made a point of letting me know that I looked attractive that evening. A fellow female student came to interrupt our conversation and asked him to dance – good timing girlfriend. It was getting towards the end of the night at that stage and I was getting tired after having danced for almost 3 hours straight.

Mr Spark was there also. He had been dancing with other women all night and I occasionally caught him looking at me out of the corner of my eye. At the end of the night he actually came up to me and asked me to dance. I was surprised as I didn’t think he’d ever ask me to dance again! It’d been a number of months since he friend zoned me and I decided to ignore him on the dance floor. I accepted his offer and the most fitting song started to play. The lyrics went: I’m only human after all, don’t put your blame on me. Usually, I’m the one who sings along to the songs, but this time he joined in. It’s as if he was asking me to be forgiving.

A few times whilst we were dancing my hair got caught in his stubble. I laughed and he seemed a little embarrassed, that was until it happened the third time and he laughed too. At the end of the song he tried to sing the words but got them clearly wrong. This made us both laugh. At the end I thanked him and he thanked me and said that he hoped that I had been well.

I had one more amazing dance with a different man then decided it was time to execute my Cinderella Act in true Anastasia style.
